Marion Housing Authority

About Our Organization

There is a rare spirit that exists in Marion, Indiana: an indescribable spirit of camaraderie, passion, and deep pride in who we are and where we’re going. As a community, we have faced trials and difficulties that have caused some to doubt us, but we are not a city of quitters. That is evident in the tireless efforts being taken up by every organization in our community. Now more than ever, community members are excited about moving our city forward, and making positive movements in every direction.

At MHA, we are not trying to do it alone and we would never wish to do so. We see our local businesses and organizations as our most vital assets to sharpen us and keep us progressing forward. From the architects who craft our blueprints, to the coffee shops who craft the espresso that keeps us going, we are dependent on a myriad of local businesses and organizations every single day. We are incredibly grateful for these local partners, and we applaud them for all the ways they make Marion the unique and talented community that it is.

At Marion Housing Authority, we hold fervent hope in the Marion’s tomorrow. Today, however, we have made the decision that ‘tomorrow’ is no longer good enough for our residents—our residents deserve to have a good today. We have established an independent 501 c (3) nonprofit, Building for Change Inc. to expand our mission beyond what a public housing agency alone can do. Not only do we desire to provide our residents with housing, but we are passionate about creating a culture of hope in which the barriers our neighbors face are lessened and opportunities are multiplied. Our vision is for Marion to be a place in which every member in the community can taste and see a richer quality of life..

We believe Marion is an incredible place to call home. Our city has a rich history and we believe that our community has developed character and resiliency in persevering through the years. We believe that Marion is beautiful, and that our quirky imperfections compose the unique story of this community– a story that is worth sharing with the world. We believe in reviving our story, and picking up the pen where we left off–and we believe that now is the the time to do just that.

We are an inclusive housing provider that encourages healthy living with opportunities to succeed. Whether you’re new to Grant County, or simply looking for a new space to do life, we want to invite you to make your next home with us. We have been a trusted property owner and manager to residents of Marion for over 50 years, and we promise to continue that legacy for you. We offer flexible leasing options and will work with you to achieve the best possible lease suited to meet your needs. Apply online today at
